I just wanted to share a few pics from the Canggu Surfing Community’s 1st annual “Canggrom” contest held down at our local beach last weekend. This was a pretty special event because it was for local kids under 18 that live between Brawa and Pereranan. The Canggu Banjar is the first in Bali to organize a community counsel that is specific to surfing. From now on all surfing events held in Canggu will have to register with the Canggu Surfing Community. One of the CSC’s primary goals is to raise awareness throughout Canggu about pollution and littering and they are organizing weekly beach cleanups from Brawa to Pereranan with all of the local surfers. The morning of the contest was the first day of the beach cleanup. Franklin and I have been helping the local surfers put this together and it was very cool to give a little back to the community that we work and live in. Being involved with this event was an amazing experience.
